Alexander Noiseux found a passion for recycling in his role as Operations Supervisor in Springfield, MA. With an enthusiasm for the process, every material brings a new challenge, and Noiseux is invested in being a part of the solution.
I grew up in San Francisco and went to college for a little while, just finding my own way. I found this industry, doing recycling, and felt like this would be a great way to give back to the community and the world and try to help clean it up. This is a vital job to help make the earth a better place for our children.
My favorite thing about coming to work is that every day is something new and different. There is always a new challenge to take on. We are constantly getting different materials. If you can think of it, we have seen it here. We also process books here. I like to go through the books sometimes and see if anything is worth salvaging. We have seen some great books come through here, and I love reading.
When the weather is nice, I like to be outdoors. My wife and I always like to go hiking around our area. We go to the beach every summer. As I mentioned, I love reading. I love learning new things. I never stopped learning, even after I finished school.
This kind of work is invaluable. We need recycling. We need waste management facilities like ours that do everything with a focus on sustainability. We can’t just think of the now, we have to think of the future and the next generation. Everything we do impacts the environment, animals, plant life, and our daily life.
I would love to manage a site of my own or work more specifically on the environmental side of things. I love learning, and I have never stayed in the same spot. I like moving forward and taking on new challenges. I want to make the world a better place, so if I can do that, I am happy.
