Puedes describir tu trayectoria en Casella?
Can you describe your journey at Casella?

Llegué a trabajar aquí hace 28 años e incluso traje a mis hijos a trabajar aquí.

This past March was my twenty-eighth anniversary. I came to work here 28 years ago and even brought my children to work here. I started as a sorter, later became a supervisor in the commercial building, and then decided to go back to being a sorter. I am content and happy with where I am at.

Cómo es un día típico para ti?
What does a typical day look like for you?

My job is to separate the material that comes in. For example, if I am working at the plastics station, I have to remove things like aluminum and newspaper to make sure only plastics are going by. At other stations, I take out waste from the stream, making sure what goes through is just items that can be recycled. Once I pull all the contamination out, we are left with recycling.

I don’t have a favorite part of my job. I enjoy everything. I like working on all stations.

Qué apoyo has encontrado en tu equipo?
What support have you found with your team?

A lot of us are Hispanic at my facility, and we were, of course, nervous about a language barrier. When I found out that there were people around who spoke Spanish, I felt great because we had even more support. We have such a great group of people at our facility.
