Mattress Recycling Featured in Hartford Courant

Casella Maintenance Supervisor Dean Turgeon

Connecticut recently surpassed 1.5 million mattresses recycled since enacting a law banning them from the waste stream in 2015. Over the last year, Casella recycled over 2 million pounds of metal, more than 1.2 million pounds of wood, nearly 1 million pounds of foam, and even 50,000 pounds of cotton through its facility in Willimantic.
